The process of measuring resistance with a pointer multimeter:

1. First select the gear (with × 1, × 10, × 100, × 1K, etc.), and then directly contact the two probes, adjust the zero adjustment resistance (the Potentiometer can be rotated) to make the pointer point to the 0 Ω scale. (This step is called "zero resistance adjustment")

2. Connect the two probes to both ends of the resistance to be tested (note that this resistance should not be connected to other circuits), and the resistance value of this resistance is a multiple of the reading.

Example: Using × At 100 gears, if the pointer is at the 20 scale, the result is 20 * 100=2000 ohms.

Testing experience:

1) Due to the non-linear relationship of the resistance scale; The distribution of its middle section is relatively fine, so the pointer indication value should be as close as possible to the middle position of the scale, which is within the range of 20% -80% radians from the beginning of the full scale, to make the measurement more accurate.

Depending on the level of resistance error, an error of 5%, ± 10%, or ± 20% is allowed between the reading and the nominal resistance value, respectively. If it does not match and exceeds the error range, it indicates that the resistance has changed value.

2) When testing, especially when measuring resistance values of tens of k ohms or more, do not touch the conductive part of the probe and resistance with your hands. The tested resistance should be soldered off from the circuit, at least one end should be soldered open to avoid other components in the circuit from affecting the test and causing measurement errors. Although the resistance value of the color ring resistance can be determined by the color ring mark, it is best to use a multimeter to measure its actual resistance value when using it.

For the detection of cement resistance, as it is usually a fixed resistance, the method for detecting cement resistance is completely the same as for detecting ordinary fixed resistance.
