The Repair of the Pointer of the Multimeter Not Resetting

After using a multimeter for a period of time, it was found that the pointer could not be reset to zero, and sometimes the pointer would stay at a deflected position. The reason is that the case of the multimeter is made of plexiglass. Since the dust on the surface is often wiped with hands or other flannelettes during use, as the use time increases and the number of frictions increases, the case produces Static electricity is attracted, especially in autumn and winter when the air is dry, so the pointer will stay at a certain position during measurement.

When encountering the failure of the electrostatic adsorption pointer, you can dilute 5% bromogeramine solution (available in chemical stores) with 30% distilled water, and then use cotton balls to dip the prepared solution evenly on the inside and outside of the multimeter case. Brush a layer, put it in a place with a temperature of about 38~40°C to dry, and the fault can be eliminated.

It can also be eliminated by adding glycerin and saline to eliminate static electricity on the dial.
