The stereomicroscope has a wide range of applications.
A stereomicroscope, also known as a dissecting microscope, is a visual instrument that produces upright, three-dimensional images. Its magnification generally ranges from 7× to 42×, with a maximum magnification of 180×. Stereomicroscopes have extremely versatile applications, and their main uses are listed below:
① Used for research in zoology, botany, entomology, histology, mineralogy, archaeology, geology, dermatology and other disciplines.
② In the textile industry, it is applied for inspection of raw materials and cotton & wool fabrics.
③ In the electronics industry, it serves as an operating tool for transistor spot welding, inspection and other operations.
④ It can be used to examine surface features such as crack structures, pore morphology and corrosion conditions of various materials.
⑤ In the manufacture of small precision parts, it is used for machine tool setup, observation of working processes, inspection of precision components and assembly work.
⑥ Used for quality inspection of surface finish and fine graduations on lenses, prisms and other transparent materials.
⑦ It can be used to identify the authenticity of documents and banknotes.
⑧ It is now widely used in many fields including textile products, chemical industry, plastic products, electronics manufacturing, machinery manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, food processing, printing industry, higher education institutions and archaeological research.
