The test pencil's internal structure and the dangers of test pencil damage

If the resistance of the test pen is broken, what will happen to the live wire? The probability of this electric shock is relatively high, because whether it is a decrease in the internal resistance or an open circuit, it will cause misjudgment and live operation.

The internal composition of the test pen
The structure of the traditional electric measuring pen is very simple. It is composed of high-resistance resistors, neon bulbs, springs and caps. The neon bulbs do not emit light under low voltage conditions. Generally, they can only light up when they are above 100v. It is difficult to damage them if they are not beaten.

The resistance value of high-resistance resistors varies. In theory, more than 500k ohms can meet the demand, but we hope that the larger the resistance value, the better. Of course, it cannot be infinite, so it will be open. Let us make a misjudgment, so the electric pen needs to be checked and maintained frequently.

So what happens if the resistance in the electric pen is lower than the set value? Obviously, the human body is prone to electric shock when the electric pen touches the electrified body. I believe everyone, especially electricians, have lessons in this regard.

The danger of damage to the test pencil

The misjudgment caused by the infinite resistance, we may think that the electrical appliance has no electricity, and there is a danger of electric shock during maintenance operations, which will cause great harm to the person.

The electric measuring pen with a resistance lower than 500k ohms will make people feel numb when measuring the charged body. If the resistance is lower, it is equivalent to touching the live wire with the hand, and the consequences will be very serious.
