The bulb, also referred to as a neon bulb, is filled with neon gas. With a high resistance in series, one pole is attached to the tip of the pen and the other pole is connected to the other end of the pen. The intensity of the illumination between the north and south poles of the neon bubble is proportional to the voltage between the north and south poles when the voltage between the north and south poles of the neon bubble reaches a specific value.When the test pen's tip hits a charged body with a voltage higher than the glow voltage at the start of a neon bulb and the other end is grounded through the body, the test pen will begin to glow. The resistance in the test pen binds the current moving through the body to reduce the likelihood of an occurrence.


The test pen can be used for the following things in addition to determining whether or not something is charged:

(1) Low-voltage phase verification can be used to determine whether any of the line's wires are in phase or out of phase. The exact procedure is to hold a test pen in each hand while standing on something that is insulated from the ground, check the two wires that need to be checked, and repeat. Contrarily, it is in the same phase, which is based on the idea that the brightness of the neon bulb in the test pen is proportional to the voltage differential between its north and south poles.


(2) May be used to distinguish between direct current and alternating current. It is assumed while testing with a test pen that the neon bulb's two poles are outputting light, which is alternating current;


(3) It is possible to distinguish between the positive and negative poles of direct current. The neon bulb that glows is the negative pole in the DC circuit; the positive pole is the non-lighting pole. Connect the test pen to the DC circuit to verify.


(4)It can be used to determine whether or not the DC is grounded. You can stand on the ground and use a test pen to contact the positive or negative pole of a DC system that is isolated from the ground. No grounding phenomena occurs if the test pen's neon bulb is not bright. If the neon bulb is bright, there is likely a grounding phenomenon; if the light is on top of the pen, the positive electrode is likely grounded.It is the negative ground if it shines on the finger end. This approach cannot be used to check whether the DC system is grounded in a DC system with a grounding inspection relay, it must be made clear. grounded.


How to use the test pen accurately:


① Before checking whether the electrical appliances and lines are electrified, you should first test them in a place with electricity to see if the test pen is intact, so as to prevent electric shock due to discrepancies.


②When holding the pen, press the tail of the test pen with your fingers and hold the pen body with other fingers.


③ When measuring the electricity, the tip of the pen touches the test body, and the hand touches the tail of the electricity measuring pen. Assuming that the test body is charged, the neon tube of the test pen will emit light; if the neon tube does not emit light, it means that the test body is not charged.


④The insulation resistance of the electric test pen is less than 1 megohm and cannot be used.
