Three situations where an electric soldering iron does not generate heat
The problem of electric soldering iron not generating heat
1. Correctly install the iron core of the electric soldering iron
Some internally heated electric soldering irons have a new soldering iron core and are powered on for a long time, but the temperature cannot rise. Even tin cannot be melted, and the handle temperature is very high. During the inspection, if the voltage is normal, it is necessary to remove the soldering iron core and check if the internal installation is reasonable.
The internal heating type electric soldering iron core and outer tube shell are of the same length. The correct installation method is to align the end of the electric soldering iron core with the end of the outer tube, without indentation or protrusion. Only by maintaining alignment can heat be transmitted to the soldering iron head effectively.
If the soldering iron core retracts a lot, the installation of the electric heating core tends towards the handle, which causes heat to concentrate on the handle end, and the heat on the soldering iron head cannot reach the temperature of molten tin.
2. Wiring of the newly replaced soldering iron core
The core of an internally heated electric soldering iron has burned out, and even replacing a few of them does not last long,
The pad left at the lead of the newly replaced soldering iron core is too short. There is no room for expansion and contraction of the soldering iron core during cold and hot periods, which causes the internal thin resistance wire to break when the soldering iron core contracts due to cold after unplugging the plug.
The correct replacement method is to lengthen the lead wire by 1-2 mm per day, so it is not easy to burn out. Pay attention to preventing wire contact caused by too long wire ends, in order to avoid short circuit faults.
3. Repair the broken electric heating wire
When the electric soldering iron does not generate heat, it is necessary to repair the broken electric heating wire. In the selection of repair methods, the twisting method should not be used.
After the hot wire or root lead of an electric soldering iron is disconnected, it is generally reconnected using the twisting method. The disadvantages of this method are loose contacts and high contact resistance, which can easily cause ignition or thermal melting.
Improvement method: Take out the electric heating wire, first remove the oxide at the joint, then tightly twist it, and then place a small amount of broken glass and electric porcelain powder (6:1) around the joint. After installation, power on for a few minutes, and the powder melts and adheres to the contact point, making it less prone to melting and durable.
When encountering the problem of electric soldering iron not generating heat, referring to the above three methods can basically solve most of the problems.
However, in daily life, it is necessary to maintain the soldering head of the electric soldering iron, master the usage skills of the electric soldering iron, and choose the heating element of the electric soldering iron before use to ensure its normal use.
