Troubleshooting of Microscope Mechanical Devices
1. Troubleshooting of rough adjustment part
The main fault of coarse adjustment is uneven tightness when automatically sliding down or lifting. The so-called automatic sliding down refers to the phenomenon that when the lens barrel, mirror arm or stage is stationary at a certain position, it automatically and slowly falls down under the action of its own weight without adjustment. The reason is that the gravity of the lens barrel, lens arm, and stage itself is greater than the static friction. The solution is to increase the static friction force so that it is greater than the gravity of the lens barrel or arm itself.
For the coarse adjustment mechanism of the oblique tube and most binocular microscopes, when the mirror arm automatically slides down, you can use both hands to hold the anti-pulley on the inside of the coarse adjustment handwheel, and tighten both hands clockwise to stop the slide. . If it doesn't work, you should find a professional to repair it.
The lens barrel automatically slides down, which often gives people the illusion that the gear and rack fit too loosely. So I added a spacer under the rack. In this way, although the slide of the lens barrel can be temporarily stopped, the gear and rack are in an abnormal engagement state. As a result of the movement, both the gear and rack are deformed. Especially if the pads are uneven, the deformation of the rack will be more severe. As a result, part of the rack will be bitten tightly and part of it will be bitten loose. Therefore, this method should not be used.
In addition, due to the long-term disrepair of the coarse adjustment mechanism, the lubricating oil has dried up, causing an uncomfortable feeling when lifting and lowering, and even the friction sound of the machine parts can be heard. At this time, the mechanical device can be disassembled, cleaned, greased and reassembled.
