Troubleshooting the Coarse Adjustment Section of the Microscope

The main failure of the microscope's coarse adjustment is that the automatic sliding or lifting is inconsistent. The so-called automatic sliding refers to the phenomenon that when the lens barrel, lens arm or stage is still at a certain position, it will automatically and slowly fall down under the action of its own weight without adjustment. The reason is that the weight of the lens barrel, mirror arm, and stage itself is greater than the static friction. The solution is to increase the static friction so that the gravity of the lens barrel or lens arm itself.

For the coarse adjustment structure of the lens barrel and most binocular microscopes, when the mirror arm slides down automatically, you can hold the anti-slip pulleys on the inside of the coarse adjustment handwheel with your hands, and tighten them clockwise with both hands to stop the slide. . If it doesn't work, you should find a professional to repair it.

The lens barrel automatically slides down, which often gives people the illusion that it is caused by the loose fit between the gear and the rack. So add spacers under the rack. In this way, although the sliding of the lens barrel can be temporarily stopped, even if the gear and the rack are in an abnormal meshing state, the result of the movement will deform both the gear and the rack, especially when the pad is uneven, the deformation of the rack will be more severe. The result is that some bites are tight and some are loose. Therefore, this method should not be used.

In addition, due to the long-term disrepair of the coarse adjustment structure, the lubricating oil is dry, and there will be an uncomfortable feeling when lifting and lowering, and even the friction sound of the parts can be heard. At this time, the mechanical device can be inserted and cleaned, greased and reassembled.

An Introduction to the Basics of Tool Measuring Microscopy
Measuring microscopes, historically, are microscopes that magnify the shape of a workpiece at an accurate magnification, and compare the image with the template for measurement and inspection. For this reason, unlike conventional observation microscopes, it uses the same telecentric optical system as profile projectors, and its objective lens magnification is also accurate.

In recent years, with the use of CCD and supplemented with necessary measurement software, the measuring microscope can not only measure the in-window coordinates of the captured workpiece video images, rely on the measurement stage to drive the workpiece to move, but also realize the coordinate measurement of the super-window. has become its mainstream usage. In order to meet this demand, the travel of the object stage needs to be larger, and the computer data processing function also needs to be stronger.

In addition, recently, as the magnification of the optical system of the measuring microscope has become more accurate, it is also possible to use a general-purpose optical head with functions such as high magnification observation, differential interference observation, and simple polarization observation. When observing at high magnification, you can also use the FA (Focus Auxiliary) lens barrel for height measurement, which can improve the repeatability of measurement in the Z-axis direction by reducing the apparent depth of field. The measuring microscope is equipped with a digital camera, and digital photos can also be taken. A variety of optional functions make the measuring microscope more and more widely used.
