Types of thickness gauges and their characteristics

 

Laser Thickness Gauge: It is a non-contact dynamic measuring instrument that uses the reflection principle of laser to measure the thickness of products according to the light-cutting method of measuring and observing the micro-geometry of the processed surface of the parts in the mechanical manufacturing. It can directly output digital signals and industrial computers connected, and quickly process data and output deviation values to a variety of industrial equipment.


X-ray Thickness Gauge: It is a non-contact dynamic measuring instrument to measure the thickness of the material by using the characteristic that the change of the intensity of the X-ray is related to the thickness of the material when the X-ray penetrates the measured material. It takes PLC and industrial computer as the core, collects the calculation data and outputs the target deviation value to the mill thickness control system to achieve the required rolling thickness. Main application industries: non-ferrous metal sheet and foil processing, metallurgical industry sheet and strip processing.


Paper thickness gauge: for the following 4mm of various films, paper, cardboard and other sheet material thickness measurement.


Film thickness gauge: used to determine the thickness of film, sheet and other materials, wide measurement range, high precision measurement, with data output, any position zero, metric conversion, automatic power-off and other characteristics.


Ultrasonic thickness gauge: ultrasonic thickness gauge is based on the principle of ultrasonic pulse reflection to thickness measurement, when the probe emitted ultrasonic pulse through the object under test to reach the material interfaces, the pulse is reflected back to the probe, through the measurement of ultrasonic propagation time in the material to determine the thickness of the material under test. This principle can be applied to all materials where ultrasonic waves can propagate at a constant speed within the material.


Suitable for measuring the thickness of metals (such as steel, cast iron, aluminium, copper, etc.), plastics, ceramics, glass, glass fibre and any other good conductors of ultrasound.


X-ray thickness gauge: suitable for the production of aluminium plate, copper plate, steel plate and other metallurgical materials for the products of the enterprise, can be matched with the rolling mill, applied to hot rolling, casting, cold rolling, foil rolling. Among them, x-ray thickness gauge can also be used for cold rolling, foil rolling and part of the hot rolling mill production process for automatic control of plate thickness.


Coating thickness gauge F-type probe can directly measure the thickness of non-conductive covering layer on the surface of magnetically conductive materials (such as steel, nickel) (such as: paint, plastic, enamel, copper, aluminium, zinc, chromium, etc.). It can be applied to the thickness measurement of electroplating layer, paint layer, enamel layer, aluminium tile, copper tile, pasteurised alloy tile, phosphating layer, paper, and can also be used for the thickness measurement of hull paint and adhesion of underwater structural parts.
