Usage of low magnification microscope
(1) Mirror retrieval and placement: The microscope is usually stored in a cabinet or box, and when used, it is taken out of the cabinet. Hold the mirror arm tightly with your right hand, and hold the mirror base with your left hand. Place the microscope on the experimental table in front of your left shoulder, with the rear end of the mirror base 1-2 inches away from the table edge, making it easy to operate while sitting
(2) Aiming: Use your thumb and middle finger to move the rotator (avoid holding the objective lens), so that the low-power lens is aligned with the through-hole of the lens (when you hear a knocking sound during rotation, it indicates that the optical axis of the objective lens is aligned with the center of the lens tube). Open the aperture, raise the concentrator, and turn the reflector towards the light source. Observe with your left eye on the eyepiece (right eye open), while adjusting the direction of the reflector until the light in the field of view is evenly bright
(3) Place a glass slide specimen: Take a glass slide specimen and place it on the mirror table, making sure that the side with the cover glass is facing upwards. Do not place it upside down. Use a pusher spring clamp to clamp it, and then rotate the pusher screw to adjust the observed area to the center of the light hole
(4) Adjusting the focal length: Rotate the coarse adjuster counterclockwise with your left hand to slowly raise the lens to a distance of about 5 millimeters from the objective lens to the specimen. It should be noted that when raising the lens, do not observe from the eyepiece. Be sure to watch the lens rise from the right side to avoid damage to the lens or specimen. Then, open both eyes at the same time, observe with your left eye on the eyepiece, and slowly rotate the coarse adjuster clockwise with your left hand to slowly lower the lens, Until a clear object appears in the field of vision
If the object is not in the center of the field of view, the slide pusher can be adjusted to adjust it to the center (note that the direction of moving the slide is opposite to the direction of moving the object in the field of view). If the brightness in the field of view is not suitable, it can be adjusted by adjusting the position of the light collector or the size of the opening and closing aperture. If the lens has dropped beyond the working distance (>5.40mm) when adjusting the focal length and no object is seen, it indicates that the operation has failed, and it should be re operated, Never rush and blindly raise the mirror platform
