Use a multimeter to measure whether the water pump motor is burnt
If you suspect that the water pump motor is burned out, you can find a multimeter to measure it, and judge whether the water pump motor is really burned out according to the measurement results.
A single-phase motor is composed of a main winding and a secondary winding. When measuring the motor with a multimeter, first turn the range switch of the multimeter to the ohm gear.
First measure the resistance of the main windings ∪1 and ∪2, and then measure the resistance of the secondary windings Z1 and Z2. Generally, the resistance of the main winding should be less than or equal to the resistance of the negative winding. If the measured resistance is normal, you can Remove the connecting piece in the junction box, measure the insulation resistance between the main winding and the auxiliary winding, and then measure the insulation resistance of the main and auxiliary windings to the motor casing. If the measurement result shows that the resistance value is abnormal, it is zero or no resistance. value or only a few k, you can basically conclude that the motor has burned out.
If the insulation resistance value is small, it may be caused by moisture or short circuit. You can also open the case and check and judge visually. When the motor is turned on and smells burnt, it is more likely that the motor is burned out.
