Using a stereo microscope and safety measures

The following are the precise procedures for utilizing the Leica microscope:

(1) After mounting the stereo microscope, make sure the power supply voltage is in line with the stereo microscope's recommended voltage before plugging in the power plug, turning on the power switch, and choosing the illumination mode;

(2) Choose the platen, insert it into the base platen's hole, and lock it depending on the specimens to be studied (for opaque specimens, use a black-and-white platen; for transparent specimens, use a frosted glass platen);

(3) Loosen the focusing slide fastening screw, then raise or lower the mirror body until it is about at the same working distance as the chosen objective lens's magnification. Lock the focusing bracket after adjusting it, then lock the safety ring in place;

(4) Insert the eyepiece; before tightening the screw on the eyepiece tube, loosen it first. When inserting the eyepiece into the stereo microscope eyepiece tube, take care not to touch the lens' surface.

(5) The interpupillary distance should be adjusted. The two prism boxes should be changed in order to alter the exit pupil distance of the eyepiece tube so that the user can observe a circular field of view once they have done so through the two eyepieces. a circle whose range of vision completely overlaps (this signifies that the interpupillary distance has been corrected);

(6) Pay attention to the specimen as you see it. The left eyepiece tube's dioptric ring should first be adjusted to the reticle's zero position. Typically, view the specimen first through the right eyepiece tube (i.e., fixed eyepiece tube), turn the zoom tube (for models with a zoom device) to the highest position, and then turn the focusing handwheel until the specimen's center is in focus. Turn the zoom tube to the lowest magnification setting once the image is clear. Now use the left eyepiece tube to observe. If the picture of the specimen is not clear, move the diopter ring on the eyepiece tube in the axial direction. Visually notice the resultant concentrating;

(7) After the observation is over, shut off the power, take the sample out of the microscope, and tightly cover it with a dust cover.

Leica microscope precautions: (1) The instrument should be out of direct sunlight, hot environments, excessive humidity, dust, and environments that could cause acid and alkali gas corrosion;

(2) After use, the stereo microscope should be covered with a dust cover in the workshop to maintain cleanliness;

(3) A solid desk should be used to position the stereo microscope;

(4) When operating the stereo microscope, avoid dirt or fingers from contaminating the lens and color filter.
