We will tell you how to choose the right infrared thermometer for you.

Main factors affecting emissivity
Material type, surface roughness, physical and chemical structure and material thickness.
When using infrared radiation thermometer to measure the temperature of the target, the first to measure the target in its band range of infrared radiation, and then calculated by the thermometer to be measured target temperature. Single-colour pyrometer and the amount of radiation within the band is proportional to the two-colour pyrometer and the ratio of the amount of radiation in the two bands is proportional.
Temperature range is one of the most important performance indicators of the pyrometer. Temperature from -50 ~ 3000 ℃, but this can not be done by a model of infrared thermometer. Each model of pyrometer has its own specific temperature measurement range. Therefore, the temperature range of the object to be measured must be considered accurately, neither too narrow nor too wide. According to the blackbody radiation law, in the short wavelength band of the spectrum by the temperature-induced changes in radiant energy will be more than by the emissivity error caused by the change in radiant energy. Therefore, temperature measurement should try to choose the better short-wave.

Determine the response time
Response time indicates that the infrared thermometer on the measured temperature changes in response speed. Defined as 95% of the energy required to reach the final reading of the time. It is related to the photodetector, signal processing circuitry and display system time constant. New infrared thermometers have response times of up to 1 ms. which is much faster than contact temperature measurement methods. If the target's movement is very fast or measure the target of rapid heating, to choose a fast response infrared thermometer, otherwise it does not achieve a sufficient signal response, will reduce the measurement accuracy. However, not all applications require fast response infrared thermometer. For the stationary or target thermal process when there is thermal inertia, the response time of the pyrometer can relax the requirements. Therefore, the response time of the infrared thermometer should be selected to adapt to the situation of the target to be measured.
Signal processing function

Measurement of discrete processes (such as parts production) and continuous process is different, the infrared thermometer is required to have signal processing capabilities (such as peak hold, valley hold, average). Such as measuring the glass on the conveyor belt, we must use the peak hold, the temperature of the output signal transmitted to the controller.
