What are the common mistakes made by gas detectors?

A large amount of toxic and harmful gases are produced during factory production. As operators in grassroots positions, while protecting themselves, they should also strengthen the prevention of toxic and harmful gases. For example, gas detectors should be installed on equipment valves, interfaces and key parts. The use of gas detectors can regularly detect harmful and flammable gases in special areas. Gas is detected and recorded. So what are the common mistakes made when installing gas detectors?

1. Blindly installing a detector without understanding the characteristics of the gas
This question is a cliché, but some friends still ignore it.

For a gas detector to be truly effective, it is very important to understand the specific gravity of the air that needs to be detected. Because only by knowing the air specific gravity of the gas can we confirm the installation height of the gas detector.

After confirming the installation height, we will then find a suitable installation location for the gas detector based on the distribution of working conditions at the detection site and the location of possible leak points.

2. The range within which the gas detector can detect
Many friends have the misunderstanding that gas detectors, especially fixed gas detectors, can detect long distances.

In fact, since most of the detectors are dispersed, the detector can detect the concentration only when the gas to be detected is dispersed to the sensor head of the detector. Otherwise, even if the space is filled with toxic gases, the detector will not be able to detect it once it is affected by the air flow direction and concentration ratio.

There is no strict standard on how far away a gas detector should be installed. We can only reach a conclusion after fully understanding the conditions at the site to be tested.

3. Good quality gas detectors can adapt to various complex environments
Under normal circumstances, gas detectors have their own working conditions that they are accustomed to. First of all, you need to pay attention to the basic conditions of humidity, temperature, and pressure.

Usually, it is more suitable to install it in an environmental factory building, and it can basically be installed and fixed directly. However, when we install it in closed spaces such as pipes and flues, we must pay attention to the working conditions.

Regardless of the brand, the environmental conditions that the gas detector can adapt to are normal temperatures from -20 to 50 degrees, humidity below 90% without condensation, and pressure within the range of 100kp.
