What are the differences between a laser range finder and an ultrasonic range finder?
1. In terms of accuracy, the measurement accuracy of ultrasonic rangefinders is at the centimeter level, while the measurement accuracy of laser rangefinders is at the millimeter level;
2. In terms of measurement range, the measurement range of ultrasonic rangefinders is usually within 80 meters, while the measurement range of handheld laser rangefinders can reach up to 200 meters, and the measurement range of laser rangefinders can reach hundreds or even thousands of meters, even further (the measurement accuracy of laser rangefinders is usually 1 meter or tens of centimeters).
3. Ultrasonic rangefinders are prone to errors. As ultrasonic rangefinders emit sound waves and have the fan-shaped emission characteristics of sound waves, when there are many obstacles where sound waves pass through, the reflected sound waves are more and there is more interference, making them prone to errors. On the other hand, laser rangefinders emit a very small beam of excitation light and then return, so as long as the beam can pass through, there is almost no interference.
4. The price of ultrasonic rangefinders ranges from tens to hundreds of yuan, while the price of laser rangefinders ranges from hundreds to thousands to tens of thousands of yuan, with significant differences depending on accuracy and distance.
Therefore, laser rangefinders have long been applied in various industries in our daily lives, such as interior designers, surveyors, evaluators, on-site electrical measurement, firefighters, land planners, real estate developers, stage builders, factory and warehouse planning, exhibition builders, forestry workers, designers, fire safety, industrial transmission, traffic accident sites, crane drivers, surveying and software application providers, data modeling, and other professional measurement fields, all of which use handheld laser rangefinders.
