What are the differences between DC power supply and AC power supply
Our first concern is the issue of energy loss between the two. When using a DC power source for energy transmission, the energy loss may be greater, making it less suitable for long-distance energy transmission. However, when using an ELGAR AC power source, the energy loss is very small, making it more suitable for long-distance transmission. Therefore, many of the energy transmitted over long distances around us use AC power.
In addition, when we use electricity, DC power is more common because the DC current emitted by DC power is more stable and does not produce white noise and other noise. Therefore, it is widely used in electronic devices such as televisions around us. However, if AC power is to supply power to televisions and other devices, it needs to be connected to rectifier devices, which is inconvenient to use. Therefore, the use of DC power is more frequent and common in our daily life, which is also an important aspect of the difference between AC power and DC power.
The methods we use to measure AC and DC power sources in daily life may also vary. For example, if we use a digital multimeter to measure ELGAR circuits using AC power sources and circuits using DC power sources, the measurement results will also be different. If we use a simple method of measurement, that is, using an electric pen to measure, the circuit controlled by the AC power source will have a current display, while the circuit controlled by the DC power source will not have a display. Moreover, in situations where the power source is relatively small, DC power sources are safer for the human body. Sometimes, even if the power source is small, the circuit controlled by the AC power source may be harmful to the human body. We can also distinguish between DC power sources and corner power sources based on their usage location. For example, when transmitting data through cables, AC power is usually used, but in this case, DC power is rarely used.
The so-called communication is the alternating flow of current, whose direction is changing alternately. Ring transformer belongs to a type of AC power supply, and the output of the transformer is not divided into positive and negative poles, which can be connected arbitrarily. AC power is generally represented by AC or wavy lines, such as AC12V~24V.
Direct current refers to a current whose direction does not change over time, but its magnitude may vary. A constant current power supply, such as a switching power supply, has a special output current that remains unchanged. DC is represented by DC or a straight line, such as DC12V-24V. DC power supply is divided into positive and negative poles, and once connected in reverse, it will burn out the power supply.
In practical life, a ring transformer can also output direct current, which can be achieved by using only one component - a rectifier bridge. Sometimes, in order to make the power supply more stable and have less interference, several filtering capacitors are added
