What are the safety precautions for use of a multimeter?

a. Do not use damaged instruments. Before using the instrument, please check the instrument casing and pay attention to the insulation near the connection socket.

b. Check the test probe for any damaged insulation or exposed metal, check the continuity of the probe, and replace the damaged probe before using the instrument.

c. When there is an abnormality in the operation, please do not use the instrument, as the protection may be damaged at this time. When in doubt, please send the instrument for maintenance.

d. Please do not use this instrument near explosive gases, vapors, or dust.

e. Please do not input voltage exceeding the rated voltage indicated on the instrument between any two terminals or between any terminal and the ground.

f. Before use, please use an instrument to measure a known voltage to verify the instrument.

g. When measuring current, please turn off the power supply of the circuit before connecting the instrument to the circuit.

h. When repairing instruments, please only use the indicated replacement parts.

i. When measuring the average AC voltage of 30V, peak value of 42V, or DC voltage above 60V, please pay special attention as such voltages can cause electric shock hazards.

j. When using the test pen, please keep your fingers behind the stopper of the pen.

k. When measuring, please first connect the common test probe (black probe) and then connect the live probe (red probe); When disconnecting, please first disconnect the charged probe and then disconnect the common probe.

l. When opening the battery compartment, please remove all test probes from the instrument panel.

m. Do not use the instrument when the battery compartment or instrument casing is not tightly covered or loosened.

n. When the low voltage warning symbol "" appears on the battery, please replace the battery as soon as possible to avoid false readings that may cause electric shock or personal injury.

o. Please do not use a multimeter to measure voltages outside the CAT classification level shown on the multimeter.
