1. The clamp meter can measure current non-contactly. A multimeter needs to clamp the test lead to the wire in the circuit under test, while the clamp meter does not have to directly contact the wire, which greatly improves the safety and convenience of use.


2. The clamp meter has higher accuracy. Because its measurement principle is more sensitive than a multimeter, a clamp meter can detect very weak currents in a circuit. In addition, its measurement error is much smaller than that of a multimeter, which can reach the level of several percent. This is very important for high-precision current measurement in motors, transformers, etc.


3. The clamp meter is only suitable for AC circuits. Since the working principle of the clamp meter is based on electromagnetic induction, it can only measure the current in the AC circuit. A multimeter can measure current in both DC and AC circuits.


4. The price of clamp meter is relatively high. Due to its technical principles and higher production costs, the price of a clamp meter is also much more expensive than other tools.
