The detector should be calibrated and tested in time. No matter what instrument it is, it should be carefully checked and calibrated before use. This is especially true for gas detectors. If timely calibration and detection are not performed before use, the accuracy of the instrument itself may deviate. Therefore, in gas detection Before using the instrument, it is very necessary to carry out timely calibration and inspection. So what kind of inspections need to be done before the gas detector is used? Let me share with you the following points.
Before using the gas detector, you need to do the following checks
1. Appearance power inspection: Before use, carefully check whether the appearance of the gas detector is in good condition and not damaged. The detector should be turned on to see if it can perform a normal self-inspection and then enter the detection interface to observe whether the power of the detector can meet the work needs. If the power is insufficient, it should be charged immediately, and it is forbidden to bring it into the work site.
2. Use environment inspection: Before use, the nameplate of the gas detector should be checked to clarify the type and range of the detected gas, the applicable range of temperature, and the applicable area of explosion-proof, etc. Different gas detectors have specific use ranges. Working, it will cause damage to the gas detector, and the detection function may be lost in severe cases. For example, the combustible gas LEL detector, if accidentally used in an environment exceeding 100% LEL, may completely burn the sensor. And toxic gas detectors, long-term use at higher concentrations will also cause damage to the sensor
3. Alarm test: After the gas detector is turned on normally, use the corresponding gas cylinder to perform a ventilation test to check whether the sensor of the gas detector is sensitive and the alarm function is complete. If the detector does not respond after the bump test, it should be returned for repair immediately.
