What happened to the fuse at home? How to measure the current with a multimeter

What happened to the fuse at home?

Under normal circumstances, the fuse can be burned out in the following situations:

①, line parallel,

②, short circuit

③ Overload use, using electrical appliances beyond the rated current of the fuse.

④, The switch blade is installed incorrectly. When connecting the switch blade, the wire ends are not connected tightly, and the fuse is crimped tightly. During use, it is easy to cause high temperature and heat at the joint, so it is easy to burn the fuse.

The second question, how to measure current with a multimeter?

When using a multimeter to measure the current, turn the range switch of the multimeter to the AC voltage and current gear. You can first estimate the total load of all electrical appliances in the home. When the multimeter is adjusted to ≥ the total load current of household appliances, it is connected in series. It can be measured on the road (pay attention to safe operation, prevent electric shock, non-professionals are not recommended to operate)

Since the current block of the multimeter has a small range, it is recommended to use a special instrument with a larger range, the clamp ammeter, as long as the single-phase wire to be measured is placed in the clamp meter with a paving method (note, the clamp meter Switch the range switch of the meter to the appropriate gear of the current gear of the Tianjin meter), this is the displayed number, which is the current (A) of electricity used at the moment

Burning insurance is nothing more than overload and short circuit. The fuse (tube) has a rated load, and it will blow if it exceeds the load. When the electrical equipment does not exceed the scope of insurance use, it is basically a problem with individual circuits. Some ordinary multimeters can only measure DC current and cannot be connected in series to AC circuits. General maintenance should take partial open circuit, power supply inspection. If the fuse is no longer blown after which part is disconnected, the scope of the fault can basically be found. If all the loads are disconnected and the insurance is still burned, it can be determined that the line is faulty. Disconnect the power supply and load, and use a multimeter to block and measure the resistance between the lines. If there is a problem with the line, you can only change the line or rewire it. It should be repaired by professional electrician, do not operate at will. After all, it is an "electric tiger", so don't carry out dangerous operations.
