What is the difference between a lead soldering station and a lead-free soldering station

In fact, it is mainly due to the difference in soldering temperature. The soldering temperature required for lead-free solder wire is higher, generally around 250 degrees, while the soldering temperature of ordinary tin wire is 180 degrees, so the soldering temperature for lead-free soldering stations is higher. , and the heating speed of the lead-free soldering station is faster. Of course, there are exceptions. Among lead-free solders, there are also low-temperature solders whose melting point is lower than that of leaded solders. But the price of this low-temperature solder is quite expensive.

Theoretically speaking, lead-free solder joints can also be soldered with lead-free soldering stations, because the temperature of lead-free soldering stations can reach the melting point of lead-containing solder. But in fact, no one uses it like this, because once the lead-free solder is soldered on the lead-free soldering station, the lead-free soldering station will be polluted and can no longer be used as a lead-free environmentally friendly product.

Conversely, lead-free soldering cannot be done with a leaded soldering station, because the temperature of the leaded soldering station may not reach the melting temperature of the lead-free solder.
