What is the function of an automatic continuous zoom video microscope?

The working principle of a continuously variable magnification video microscope

Continuous zoom video microscope (hereinafter referred to as video microscope) began with a binocular viewing stereoscopic microscope. The optical system mainly consists of three parts: a continuous zoom objective, an eyepiece, and an additional front objective, as shown in Figure 1. The continuous zoom objective belongs to the range of low-power objectives and is a key component of video microscopes. The observed object is imaged by an optical system on the photosensitive surface of a CCD (or CMOS), and the image sensor converts the light signal into an electrical signal (video signal). This signal is displayed on the CRT screen or LCD screen of the television system to display the image of the object. Figure 2 shows the DT-10 single tube continuous zoom video microscope developed by the Guidian Optoelectronics Mechatronics Research Institute and Wuzhou Aote Optoelectronics Instrument Co., Ltd. In the absence of a front objective and 1 × Under eyepiece conditions, zoom ratio M=1:6.3, 0.7-4.5 × Continuously doubling. After connecting with 1/3 inch CCD through C interface, the microscopic image is displayed on CLD. The optical system also needs to use LED coaxial lighting with adjustable light intensity or circular LED array external lighting.

Automation and Intelligent Transformation of 2 Video Microscopes

(1) Question raising. Machine vision is widely used for online automatic detection in industrial production processes, and the "manual adjustment+video observation" mode of continuous zoom video microscopy cannot meet the requirements of online automatic detection.

(2) Overall design plan. The essence of an intelligent continuous zoom video microscope is to apply embedded technology in a continuous zoom system, replacing traditional computers to automatically control the movement of the microscope. While reducing costs, it can quickly achieve automatic zoom, focusing, and detection functions. Its simple and practical technology makes it possible to replace manual zoom and computer zoom video microscopes. From a demand perspective, it should have two major functions: automatic focusing and electronic zoom.

1) It can be seen from the literature that the idea of the designed auto focusing scheme is that the microscopic images collected by the optical system are detected by "CCD+PC" and driven by the stepper motor.

2) The electronic zoom scheme is suitable for replacing manual rotation at different angles on the zoom handwheel to achieve continuous zoom of the optical system.
