What is the maximum magnification of an optical microscope?

The magnification of the optical microscope is limited by the magnification of the objective lens, and the maximum can reach 1500 times!

Under normal circumstances, the objective lens group has 4 lenses, each with a magnification of 4, 10, 40, and 100 times, and the eyepiece group has three lenses with a magnification of 5, 10, and 15 times each. With eyepiece magnification, 100*15=1500 times.

No matter how big it is, it will only increase the magnification of the eyepiece, but no more details will appear, which is invalid magnification. It is equivalent to looking at the photo (image of the objective lens) with a magnifying glass. No matter how large the magnification of the magnifying glass is, you will not be able to see the image that was not captured by the photo itself. This is limited by the principle of optical microscopes. In order to obtain a larger magnification, microscopes with other structures, such as electron microscopes, can achieve 1000 times (theoretical value) of optical microscopes.
