What is the measuring range of the oxygen detector?
Perhaps everyone is well aware that a common purpose of using an oxygen detector is to test for safe hypoxia in the human body. Its measurement range is 0-30% vol, because human safety requires that oxygen should not be lower than 19.5% vol and an alarm must be triggered. If the concentration of enriched oxygen exceeds 23% vol, a warning must be given because enriched oxygen can also cause discomfort in the human body. Therefore, the commonly used range is 0-30% vol, and some also use the range of 0-25% vol, which is actually the same because the internal sensors of the oxygen detector have the same range. The measurement range of 0-25% or 0-30% vol you choose has the same accuracy. It is recommended to directly choose 0-30% vol. Of course, in addition to the commonly used oxygen deficiency reminder function for measuring human safety mentioned above, there are many other uses that also require oxygen detection. The main special purposes are as follows:
1, The environmental conditions for trace oxygen testing are often used to detect the content of trace oxygen in high concentration gases, such as detecting trace oxygen in pure hydrogen gas and detecting trace oxygen in pure nitrogen gas. The range of trace oxygen detectors is generally 0-10000 ppm, which is equivalent to a volume ratio concentration range of 1% vol.
2, In the application of detecting high-purity oxygen concentration, such as some industrial control conditions requiring detection of oxygen purity, or detecting oxygen concentration produced by oxygen concentrators, these applications have relatively high oxygen content, and it is recommended to choose a measurement range of 0-100% vol
Based on the above industrial control applications, the measurement range of oxygen detectors can be mainly divided into three categories of ranges,
1) Normal human body safety anti hypoxia range concentration usage: 0-30% vol range;
2) Trace oxygen detection usage: 0-10000ppm;
3) High concentration measurement of purity oxygen content: 0-100% vol.
The above three standard ranges are common ranges for oxygen detectors.
