What is the most common type of detector?

The principles of gas detectors can be divided into diffusion type and pump suction type. The so-called diffusion type refers to placing the probe in a hazardous area for detecting gas, spreading the gas to be measured into the probe from the space, and placing the alarm in the monitoring room for indication and alarm. The pump suction type is to pump the gas to be measured into the detection probe, and the suction pump is set together with the gas built-in detector. The detector is set at a dangerous location of the gas to be measured, so as to detect and execute the indication and alarm functions.

According to the type of gas detected, it can be divided into toxic gas detectors and combustible gas detectors;
Detectors that respond to single or multiple combustible gas concentrations. The intelligent sensing transmitter used in the detector is a fully functional combustible gas sensing transmitter. The infrared combustible gas detector is an ideal choice in the following application environments: frequent catalytic toxic gas exposure, high combustible gas emissions, oxygen deficient environments, and environments where detection is difficult to achieve

According to the detection method, it can be divided into: natural diffusion gas detector and pump suction gas detector;

Diffusion type gas detector: It is a gas in the tested area that slowly flows into the instrument with the free flow of air for detection, and needs to be placed on site. This method is influenced by the detection environment, such as ambient temperature, wind speed, etc., and is not suitable for gas sources with lower pressure. The advantage of a diffusion type gas detector is that its cost is lower than that of a pump suction type.

Pump suction gas detector: The instrument is equipped with a gas sampling pump, which works by driving the gas sampling pump by the power supply to extract and sample the gas in the test area, and then send the sample gas to the instrument for detection. The characteristics of a pump suction gas detector are fast detection speed, remote measurement of hazardous areas, and maintenance of personnel safety. Suitable for situations where gas detectors cannot be placed on site and have special requirements for reaction speed, pressure difference, etc.

According to the number of detections, it can be divided into single gas detectors and multi in one gas detectors.

Single gas detector: using high-performance catalytic combustion sensors, it can be used to detect various combustible gases in industries such as petrochemicals, environmental accidents, natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas, coal gas, etc., including hydrocarbons, liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas, hydrogen, etc.

Multi in one gas detector: It can be configured with a single gas or multiple gas sensors for detection. It can be configured with single, two in one, three in one, four in one, or any of the four toxic gas sensors or any of the single gas sensors for detection.
