What kind of soldering iron head is good for patch components

According to the shape, the soldering iron tip can be divided into pointed tip, horseshoe-shaped tip, flat nozzle-shaped tip, knife-edge tip, etc., and can be divided into various sizes according to the size. Generally, the more commonly used shapes are pointed soldering iron tips and knife-edge soldering iron tips.

When soldering devices with a small number of pins, such as chip resistors, chip capacitors, chip inductors and other two-terminal components, as well as SOT-23 package components, use a pointed soldering iron tip, while welding multiple pins Chips, such as LQFP packages, TSSOP packages, SOP packages, etc., use knife-edge soldering iron tips, because knife-edge soldering iron tips can be dragged and soldered, and the welding efficiency is relatively high.

However, which soldering iron tip to use depends on the user's personal habits, and it is best to get used to it.

Points to note when soldering with an electric soldering iron:
1. Before using the soldering iron, check whether the soldering iron is well grounded.

2. Before welding, pay attention to whether the power of the soldering iron matches the soldering point.

3. Clean the tip of the electric soldering iron with a sponge and then tin-plate it.

4. Clean and tin-plate the soldered components, and then solder them. The temperature must not be too high and the time should not be too long during soldering.

5. Pay attention to the permeability of solder joints, the distance between points, and the coordination of rosin and solder paste.

6. After welding, be sure to check whether there are any false welds, missing welds, wrong welds, short circuits, etc.

1. How to hold the soldering iron
(1) How to hold a pen. Suitable for lightweight soldering irons, such as 30W internal heat soldering irons. Its soldering iron head is straight, and the head end will be filed into a bevel or conical shape, which is suitable for soldering pads with small soldering area.

(2), fist method. Suitable for high power soldering irons.

2. Several methods of soldering leads on printed circuit boards.

(1) Straight through the cutting head. The leads go directly through the through holes. When soldering, make an appropriate amount of molten solder evenly surround the tinned leads above the pad, and cut off the excess leads.

(2), buried directly. The lead through the hole is only exposed to an appropriate length, and the molten solder buries the lead tip inside the solder joint.

3. Prevent poor welding

1. Select suitable solder, low melting point solder wire for welding electronic components should be selected.

2. Flux, use 25% rosin dissolved in 75% alcohol (by weight) as flux.

3. Soldering method, polish the pads and component pins with fine sandpaper, and apply flux.

4. The welding time must not be too long, otherwise it is easy to burn the components.

5. The integrated circuit should be soldered last, and the electric soldering iron should be reliably grounded, or use residual heat for soldering after power failure.
