Why does the displayed value of the pH meter transmitter fluctuate so much
The online pH meter transmitter has unstable and fluctuating display values, and it malfunctioned 2 hours after standard liquid calibration at the beginning of use. The specific phenomenon is that the pH value of the tested medium is between 6.8 and 7.2. When the pH value is 6.8, the transmitter display value fluctuates between 5.9. When the pH value is 7.2, the transmitter display value decreases at 11, and when it drops to 10, it slowly decreases. After replacing the new transmitter, this phenomenon did not occur.
The problem of large fluctuations in the display value of online pH meter transmitters is definitely rare, and there are not many problems with imported pH meters, which occasionally occur. Do you want to see if there is a new probe? Check the impedance with a new probe. No probe replacement, check the salt bridge* Would you consider replacing the probe in the future. It may be due to loose wiring, tighten the wiring terminals.
Note: Salt bridge refers to a small amount of KCl solution that seeps out through porous ceramics after the reference electrode is inserted into the tested solution. It is connected to the reference electrode internally and the tested solution externally, serving as a bridge for electrical contact, and is called salt bridge. The leakage rate of E salt bridge solution has a significant impact on the liquid connection potential: slow leakage rate causes instability of the liquid connection potential; Moreover, if the pressure of the measured solution increases and the leakage rate slows down, the measured solution may enter the reference electrode, causing the acidity meter to malfunction.
