A pen-type digital multimeter, made in China, whose brand is “GVDA” and model GD107. It is made of ABS-type plastic, with very good finishes and a fairly compact and robust appearance.

In the box we find the main body of the multimeter, the test cable with the other terminal, two AAA batteries and an instruction manual

It has protective caps to avoid damaging the measuring tips or even pricking us with them. The multimeter has its protection cap for the tip and the test lead comes with a cap placed on the connector and none on the tip, but I have verified that, once the test lead is connected to the multimeter, this protection cap fits perfectly at the tip, so we have protection for both tips.

To insert the batteries you have to remove the screw that fixes the back cover.

The dimensions of the multimeter are quite compact, which makes it easy to transport and store. Its largest dimension is the length, because one of the measurement tips is included in the meter itself, having an approximate length of about 25cm and the test cable about 75cm. The connection terminal of this cable fits perfectly in the multimeter, preventing it from being inadvertently removed while it is being used.

The operation is really simple. It has only three buttons made of rubber, the type of the buttons on the remote controls of televisions and other devices. One of the buttons is red and by long pressing it is used to turn the multimeter on and off. This button is printed with the common on/off symbol.

It has an automatic power off function to save battery, which will automatically turn off the device if no measurement is made within a period of 15 minutes.

The central button “H” is used to fix the reading on the screen by means of a slow press and to turn on the headlamp, by means of a long press.

Finally, with the lower button "FUNC" we will select the type of measurement to be carried out, be it voltage (direct or alternating current), resistance, continuity, diodes, frequencies, phases, etc.

It has a very useful measurement mode, called “AUTO”, which will automatically measure continuity, resistance and voltage, regardless of whether it is direct or alternating current. I find it a really practical function, so as not to have to continually change the function manually, using the "FUNC" button. This function is the one that appears by default when turning on the device.

Something that I liked and I want to highlight is its screen. It is a backlit LCD screen with very good contrast and resolution. It shows the large numbers in white, so reading is really comfortable.

I have made measurements of different voltages, both direct current and alternating current, resistances, continuity, diodes, etc., showing good precision, an end that I have been able to verify by comparing it with measurements from a professional multimeter.

Continuity measurement is very practical, as it has both a visual and audible alarm. If there is continuity, the multimeter makes a high-pitched beep and a green light at the top of the screen turns on.

Both tips have a bushing installed and that can be removed, if we need to insert the tips into a socket, connector or deep place where the tips do not reach, due to the thickness of the bushing.

After testing and using it these days, I have been able to verify that it is a very practical and efficient device, which presents the most commonly used functions. It is comfortable to carry and use, due to its manageable size and because one of the terminals is included in the terminal itself and therefore we do not have to leave it placed on unstable surfaces or worse, if we do not have a place to place it, as is the case with common multimeters, which have two independent measurement tips and the separate control unit itself.

For all these reasons, it seems to me a good quality and really practical article, even for professional use. Recommendable.
