Can electric soldering iron series diodes achieve the purpose of cooling?

Diodes are connected in series to reduce the voltage and address the issue of the soldering iron getting too hot. Let's examine whether series connecting diodes will allow for cooling to occur.

The soldering iron receives electricity straight from the DC power supply. The temperature cannot be maintained constant and will fluctuate with the soldering area since there is no temperature detection and control circuit. Tin may not melt as rapidly if the temperature is too low, and if it is too high, the soldering iron's tip may oxidize too quickly and produce no tinning. The optimal solution for the temperature problem is to expand the temperature sensing and control circuit. Since the commonly used conventional electric soldering iron cannot be converted to temperature control because it lacks a temperature detecting device, the temperature can only be controlled by lowering the voltage.

Ordinary rectifier diodes typically have a forward voltage drop of roughly 0.7V, and Schottky diodes have an even lower forward voltage drop, depending on the model. The diode in series can help lower voltage if the soldering iron is driven by high-frequency alternating current since the diode's half-wave rectifies the alternating current, halving the voltage's effective value. However, for DC voltage, the diode's optimal voltage drop is just 0.7V at most, and because the voltage drop's range is too limited, it has no discernible impact on the temperature drop.

You can only drastically lower the voltage if you wish to significantly lower the temperature. The voltage can be decreased in two different ways. One is to adjust the reference voltage of the charger's internal output's voltage sampling section. This change approach calls for certain circuit basis and experience. Another approach is to modify the output voltage by using a finished DC adjustable step-down module in conjunction with a variable resistor. Additionally, it may be changed so that it automatically cools down, detection components can be attached to the soldering iron stand, and the voltage is automatically dropped once the soldering iron is inserted.
