Electric soldering iron is insoluble and does not stick to tin

Electric soldering iron is a necessary tool for electronic enthusiasts and practitioners. New electric soldering iron heads will have a protective layer on them, which can protect them from oxidation. At this time, it is easy to solder the electric soldering iron, but some improper operations such as continuous heating, use of acidic soldering flux, and failure to add soldering tin when not in use can lead to premature oxidation of the soldering iron head and the problem of not being able to solder.

Ordinary electric soldering iron

Some ordinary electric soldering irons, due to their lack of constant temperature and temperature regulation functions, and their low price, do not use copper or alloy soldering iron tips. After being electrified, the electric soldering iron is in a continuous heating state, and the soldering iron head is prone to oxidation. Some electric soldering irons may even experience the phenomenon of the soldering iron head burning red.

Solution:

You need to use a file or sandpaper to polish the soldering iron head, remove the oxide layer on the surface of the soldering iron head, and then enter the rosin, rotate it back and forth a few times, and add solder. If the soldering iron head still cannot be tinned properly after this method, a new soldering iron head needs to be replaced, and a suitable soldering iron head needs to be selected based on the soldering iron model and power.

Like some constant temperature electric soldering irons, such as the very commonly used 936 welding table. Due to its own temperature regulation and constant temperature functions, the soldering iron head is made of alloy soldering iron, which is not easily oxidized and can work stably at the set temperature. And this type of electric soldering iron not only heats very quickly, but also has the function of not shutting down automatically for a long time, greatly reducing the oxidation of the soldering iron head. Therefore, it is recommended to use this electric soldering iron, which is more convenient.

Precautions for using soldering iron:

When the soldering iron is not in use, it must be promptly powered off or solder added to the soldering iron head to prevent oxidation. Do not use acidic flux as it can easily cause oxidation of the soldering iron tip. A flux mixed with rosin and alcohol can be used for auxiliary welding during welding. In terms of solder selection, it is necessary to choose some good solder.
