Introduction and review from our Germany customer about our GVDA GD153 wood moisture meter may can do some helps for you when you buy it
So the description states this is a:-
Wood moisture metre. GVDA GD153 damp metre for walls/floors, logs moisture metre with 2.25-inch LCD screen. Tricolour backlight display, pin type moisture metre for firewood, accuracy ±2% ~ Orange.
After finding out this is the tool we needed because it states:-
"This pin-type moisture metre is perfect for woodworking, water damage restoration, building construction, and home renovation".
I'm glad you do not need calibrate, It's ready to use.
The screen is tricolour backlight to easily know if the wood/wall humidity is Dry, Moist, or Wet.
* Green backlight for Low moisture
* Orange backlight for middle moisture
* Red moisture for high moisture.

But it's worth it no matter what because we have used it but more importantly I took it to my friend home who is renting and the owner keeps saying the mould is condensation…
We test's all around the hose and most places were Red or at best Amber, we told the owner and reported it.
So far so good
