For somebody that has had the unfortunate experience of dealing with floods, there is no better alternative to having such a reliable and accurate moisture meter for. Given that the alternative is to have some company come in to take $500 worth of tests, having a GVDA Digital Moisture Meter GD153 is an excellent choice; especially if you need to have a preliminary understand of your situation, without having to go hundreds of dollars out of pocket.
This handheld meter is designed to be easy to read with a large 2.25-inch LCD screen that displays moisture readings as a bar graph and percentage. The Date Hold and Max/Min function freezes readings, making it useful for recording data (especially if you are measuring at a weird angle and cannot see - or if you cannot write out all of the readings). Once you figure out which of the seven presets you need for the measurement of the material, another cool feature is the color display (where green is safe (dry), orange (moist) is caution and red (wet) means that the levels of moisture is beyond acceptable standards and remediations are required).
This is a pin-type moisture meter (there are ones that do not have pins, but I prefer these), it is battery operated (3 AAA batteries included), a carry pouch, additional pins, and mini wrench.
For this incredible price, I am extremely satisfied with this Moisture Meter. There are some that cost four or five times as much and may not have all of the features or be off by hundreds of a percent. This really stands out for me - finally, a company that makes extremely accurate and well made product, that is competitive and affordable. Highly recommended.
