What is the function of DC power supply
The main purpose of the DC power supply is to provide a stable voltage or stable current to the back-end load. The purpose of a DC power supply is to provide a regulated DC output to a component, module or device. The outstanding advantage is that it can be used for special applications, when AC power transmission is practically impractical or impossible to transmit over long distances, using DC power. One such application is subsea HVDC transmission lines, where electricity is generated in the form of AC, converted to DC at a switch/terminal, transmitted through a network of submarine cables, and then converted to AC for use at another terminal. In many instruments and equipment, it is necessary to convert AC power to DC power for use.
