6 major functions of voltage test pen
The electric pen is one of the tools that electricians must use when getting started. Learning how to use the electric pen can not only ensure your own safety, but also get twice the result with half the effort. Today, I would like to share with you how to use the electronic pen and the 6 common uses of the electronic pen.
Function 1: Detect whether it is charged
The finger touches the direct measurement button, the tip of the pen touches the measurement point, and the value displayed on the LCD is the measured voltage. (subject to the highest value displayed)
Note: Fingers must touch the direct measurement key, otherwise, even if the object under test has electricity, the electric pen may not display voltage.
Function 2: Detection of circuit continuity
It must first be done with the power off. Touch one end of the line with one finger, hold down the direct measurement key of the electric pen with the other finger, and touch the other end of the line with the tip of the pen. If the light is on, it means that the line is unobstructed, and if it is not on, it means that the line is broken.
Function 3: LED lighting
When the light of the distribution box is very dark, it can be turned on as an auxiliary lighting.
Function 4: Judgment of fire, zero and ground
The finger touches the direct measurement button and the pen tip touches the measurement point. The 220V voltage on the LCD is the live wire, the 12V voltage (or lightning symbol) is the neutral wire, and the ground wire is nothing.
Function 5: Find line breakpoints
When finding the breakpoint of the wire, put the electric pen on the insulation sheath of the wire. When the electric pen shows a lightning mark, it means that there is electricity along the wire in the insulation. Moving along the wire, the point where the lightning symbol disappears is the location of the breakpoint. (This function must be performed under electrification)
Function six: self-test function
Self-check before use to see if the electric pen is in good condition. Hold the tip of the pen with one hand, and press the direct measurement key with the other finger. The light on indicates that the battery of the electric pen is fully charged. If it is off, it means that the power of the ammeter is insufficient, or the ammeter is damaged.
