A Knowledge about Switching Power Supply Chips

This type of chip is also a switch mode power supply control chip, and the internal structure is still PWM controlled

However, this type of chip has several significant differences compared to half of the commonly used switching power supply chips

1. The input voltage range of the chip is wide, usually around 10-30V, which is around 4-60V

2. The input voltage range of the entire machine is low. Generally, the input voltage range of the power supply is between 100-400V, which is acceptable. The input voltage range of the entire machine made by this chip is also between 4-60V

3. Input and output are not isolated. Generally, the input and output terminals of a switching power supply are isolated. The power input and output produced by this chip are not isolated, which means they have a common ground

4. The drivers are different. Generally, the chip output driver of a switching power supply drives N-type MOSFETs, while this output drives P-type MOSFETs

5. The nature of input voltage is different. Generally, switch mode power supplies are designed to adapt to AC mains input, while this chip is designed to adapt to DC power input. This is also why this chip is called DC-DC chip. Of course, if this chip is fully equipped with a rectifier bridge and capacitor filtering to become DC and then supply power, it is also possible. However, it is important to pay attention to the input voltage range. The maximum DC input range of 60V is equivalent to AC 42V, which is not very meaningful in practice for switch mode power supplies with AC 42V input and no isolation,
