Lens installation
(1) Installation of eyepiece: Place the eyepiece in the positioning slot on the lens barrel, usually using the cross hair of the eyepiece in the east-west north-south direction. If there is any deviation, appropriate adjustments need to be made.
(2) Installation of objective lens: When installing the objective lens in a polarizing microscope, the lens barrel needs to be raised to a certain height to avoid damaging the lens. Hold the objective lens with your right hand and press the spring clamp on the lens tube with your left hand, and place the positioning pin on the objective lens in the positioning groove of the spring clamp. Pay attention to proper placement, otherwise it cannot be observed.

Place the thin sheet in the center of the stage and clamp it tightly with a thin sheet clamp. Be careful that the cover glass of the thin sheet must face upwards, otherwise it may not focus properly and may damage the thin sheet and objective lens.
Looking at the lens tube from the side of the microscope, rotate the thick and thin screws to lower the lens tube to the lowest position. Then, observe from the eyepiece while rotating the thick and thin screws to raise the lens tube until the object image is basically clear. When using a microscope, it is often necessary to rotate the animal stage. In order to avoid rotating the object image out of the field of view, it is necessary to keep the object image in the center of the field of view stationary. This requires the eyepiece, the central axis of the objective lens, and the rotation axis of the stage to strictly coincide.
In practice, after the microscope is assembled, both the eyepiece and the central axis of the stage are fixed, and only the objective lens needs to be frequently loaded and unloaded. The central axis of the objective lens is prone to deviation, and generally only the position of the central axis of the objective lens needs to be corrected. The calibration of the objective lens is carried out using screws perpendicular to each other in two directions. The correction of the center is as follows:

3) Rotate the stage. If the center is already aligned, the object rotates around the center of the cross hair without completely leaving the center of the cross hair. If the center is not aligned, the object moves away from the center of the crosshair and moves in a circular motion around another center, forming an eccentric circle.
