Advantages of laser infrared thermometer
The main factors of correct infrared temperature measurement
To ensure correct non-contact infrared temperature measurement, please note the following points:
• Distance ratio to target (spot)
• Field of view
• Environmental conditions
• Ambient temperature
• Emissivity
To target (spot) distance ratio
The optical system of the infrared sensor collects the energy from the circular measuring point and focuses it on the detector. Optical resolution is determined by the ratio (D:S ratio) of the distance from the device to the object to the size of the spot to be measured. The larger the ratio, the better the resolution of the device, allowing smaller spots of light to be measured from greater distances. The latest in infrared optics is the addition of a near-focus feature that provides accurate measurements of small target areas free of unwanted background temperatures.
Field of view of laser infrared thermometer
Make sure the target is larger than the spot size the device is measuring. The smaller the target, the closer you should be. When accuracy is critical, make sure the target is at least twice the spot size.
Environmental conditions of laser infrared thermometer
Be aware of environmental conditions in the work area. Vapors, dust, smoke, etc. can block the lens of the device, preventing measurements. Other conditions such as noise, electromagnetic fields or vibrations should also be considered before installation begins. A protective housing, air purge, and air or water cooling protect the sensor and ensure accurate measurements.
Ambient temperature (ambient temperature)
If the thermometer is exposed to a sudden environment with a temperature difference greater than 20°C, please keep it for at least 20 minutes to allow it to adapt to the new ambient temperature. The fixed sensor of JTCIN high temperature thermometer has been optimized for the performance of the special ambient temperature range.
Laser Infrared Thermometer Emissivity
Emissivity is a measure of an object's ability to radiate infrared energy. The radiated energy indicates the temperature of the object. Emissivity can range from 0 (clean mirror surface) to 1.0 (black body). Learn about emissivity and emissivity values for various materials.
