Analysis of Operational Faults and Corresponding Solutions for Combustible Gas Detectors

Improper use causes malfunction of the combustible gas detector

1. Attention should be paid to preventing electromagnetic interference during the use of combustible gas detectors. The installation position, installation angle, protective measures, and system wiring of combustible gas detectors should be protected against electromagnetic interference. The main ways in which electromagnetic interference affects combustible gas detectors include airborne electromagnetic wave interference, electromagnetic interference on power and other input/output lines, and human static electricity.

2. During the use of the combustible gas detector, air conditioning and heating equipment should be installed close to the combustible gas detector. If the cold and warm air flows directly through the combustible gas detector during the use of the air conditioning and heating equipment, it may cause changes in the resistivity of the platinum wire of the combustible gas detector, resulting in errors. Therefore, the combustible gas detector should be kept away from the air conditioning and heating equipment to avoid faults caused by improper placement.

3. During the use of combustible gas detectors, attention should be paid to avoiding high temperatures, high humidity, steam, and oil fumes

4. During the use of combustible gas detectors, attention should be paid to factors that can easily cause malfunctions, such as dust, high temperature, humidity, and rain

Improper construction causing malfunction of combustible gas detector

1. The combustible gas detector in residential buildings should be installed near the gas pipeline and stove in the kitchen. When residents use natural gas, the gas detector should be installed within 30cm of the ceiling; When residents use liquefied petroleum gas, gas detectors should be installed within 30cm-50cm above the ground.

2. If the combustible gas detector is not reliably grounded and cannot eliminate electromagnetic interference, it will inevitably affect the voltage and result in inaccurate detection data. Therefore, the combustible gas alarm should be reliably grounded during the construction process.

3. The combustible gas detector and wiring terminals are located in areas that are prone to collisions or water ingress, causing electrical circuits to break or short-circuit

4. Improper installation and construction of combustible gas detectors can cause detection failures. If the combustible gas alarm is not located near the equipment that is prone to leakage of combustible gas, or if it is installed adjacent to the exhaust fan, the leaked combustible gas cannot fully diffuse to the vicinity of the combustible gas alarm, making the leakage risk unable to be detected by the combustible gas detector in a timely manner.
