Anemometer calibration maintenance and probe selection

 

Wind speed meters are measuring instruments for safety protection and environmental monitoring, and are mandatory calibration measuring instruments stipulated in my country's Measurement Law. In addition to the corresponding calibration report required for factory sales, it is also required to go to the National Air-conditioning Equipment Quality Supervision and Inspection Center or the China Academy of Building Sciences Building Energy and Research Institute regularly every year in accordance with the requirements of JJG (Construction) 0001-1992 "Thermal Ball Anemometer Calibration Regulations" The Environmental Testing Center performs regular calibrations and adjusts all aspects of the instrument to obtain the best working condition according to the statutory calibration certificate issued by it.


In addition to maintaining the accuracy of daily data, you should also pay attention to the following points during daily maintenance and use:

1. It is prohibited to use anemometer in flammable gas environment.

2. It is prohibited to place the anemometer probe in flammable gas. Otherwise, it may cause fire or even explosion.

3. Please use the anemometer correctly according to the requirements of the instruction manual. Improper use may result in electric shock, fire and sensor damage.

4. During use, if the anemometer emits an abnormal smell, sound or smoke, or if liquid flows into the anemometer, please turn off the power immediately and remove the battery. Otherwise, there is a risk of electric shock, fire and damage to the anemometer.

5. Do not expose the probe and anemometer body to rain. Otherwise, there may be a risk of electric shock, fire and personal injury.

6. Do not touch the sensor part inside the probe.

7. When the anemometer is not used for a long time, please remove the internal battery. Otherwise, the battery may leak, causing damage to the anemometer.

8. Do not place the anemometer in a place with high temperature, high humidity, dust, or direct sunlight. Otherwise, it will cause damage to internal components or deterioration of anemometer performance.

9. Do not use volatile liquids to wipe the anemometer. Otherwise, the anemometer housing may be deformed and discolored. If there are stains on the surface of the anemometer, you can wipe it with soft fabric and neutral detergent.

10. Do not drop or weigh the anemometer. Otherwise, it will cause the anemometer to malfunction or be damaged.

11. Do not touch the sensor part of the probe when the anemometer is powered. Otherwise, the measurement results will be affected or the internal circuit of the anemometer will be damaged.


Probe selection


Thermal probe for anemometer
The working principle of the thermal probe of the anemometer is based on the cold impact airflow taking away the heat on the heating element. With the help of an adjustment switch to keep the temperature constant, the adjustment current is proportional to the flow rate. When using a thermal probe in turbulent flow, airflow from all directions hits the thermal element simultaneously, affecting the accuracy of the measurement results. When measuring in turbulent flow, the indication value of the thermal anemometer flow sensor is often higher than that of the wheel probe. The above phenomena can be observed during pipeline measurement. Depending on the design of how pipe turbulence is managed, it can occur even at low speeds. Therefore, the anemometer measurement process should be carried out on the straight part of the pipe. The starting point of the straight line part should be at least 10×D (D=pipe diameter, unit: CM) in front of the measuring point; the end point should be at least 4×D after the measuring point. There must be no obstruction in the fluid section. (edges, overhangs, objects, etc.)
