Application scope and cleaning and maintenance methods of microscopes

A microscope is a tool that can magnify small objects. Nowadays, it has been widely used in various industries such as teaching, healthcare, food, manufacturing, etc. Optical microscopes can be mainly divided into two categories: one is the commonly used biological microscopes in teaching and medical fields, while the other is the metallographic microscopes widely used in industries such as metallurgy, mining, and electronics, which can observe and study metal structures, mineral structures, circuit boards, surface coatings, and particles

Metallographic microscopes also use the principle of optical imaging to magnify and present small objects in front of us through a combination of two lenses. However, their general magnification is below 1000 times, while 400 times is commonly used by Zui. At the same time, the optical path of a metallographic microscope is also very different from that of a biological microscope. In biological microscopes, transmission light imaging is generally used, while samples such as metals observed by metallographic microscopes are generally opaque, so reflection light imaging is used. Metallographic microscopes are also divided into two types: upright and inverted. Due to the frequent need for measurement and analysis of samples in metallographic observation, the eyepiece of a metallographic microscope has a special type of rough measuring eyepiece called a micrometer eyepiece. This type of eyepiece involves adding a graduated cross reticle to the lens of the eyepiece, thereby achieving simple measurement of the sample. The objective of a metallographic microscope can also be divided into ordinary achromatic and flat field achromatic objectives. Due to the fact that the commonly used magnification of metallographic microscopes is usually 400 times, some metallographic microscopes only have a 40x flat field objective configured in the standard configuration to save costs. In addition, due to the analysis and research of metal structures required for metallographic microscopes, three-eye computer connected metallographic microscopes are more commonly used, and professional metallographic analysis software used for these analyses and studies is also a commonly used configuration for metallographic microscopes. However, due to the professionalism of these metallographic analysis software, the professional requirements for users are also high. In addition, there are also some metallographic prototypes and slitting machines used for sample processing that are often used together.

Due to the fact that metallographic microscopes are also precision instruments, necessary cleaning work should be carried out after using the microscope, and then placed in a tool cabinet. In addition, it is necessary to regularly clean and maintain the microscope; Pay attention to moisture prevention and release. When cleaning the key objective and eyepiece of Zui, it is necessary to gently wipe them with a cotton ball. For dirt that is difficult to clean, a cotton ball dipped in a mixture of ethanol and yi ether (8 to 2 ratios) can be used to gently wipe. Cotton balls cannot be reused. In addition, after using excessively high magnification immersion lenses, more attention should be paid to cleaning to prevent contamination of other non oil lenses. Nowadays, many microscopes have already done good anti mold treatment on the lens itself.
