Are You Using a Clamp Meter Correctly?
Clamp on ammeters are divided into high and low voltage types, and power testing instruments are used to directly measure the current in the circuit without disconnecting it. The usage method is as follows:
1. After the clamp ammeter measurement is completed, pull the switch to the maximum range to avoid accidental overcurrent during the next use; And it should be stored indoors in a dry place.
2. It is strictly prohibited to measure when a cable is grounded. Shenzhen clamp current meter prevents the occurrence of ground breakdown and explosion due to low insulation level of cable heads, which may endanger personal safety.
When measuring on a high-voltage circuit, it is forbidden to use wires to connect a clamp ammeter to another meter for measurement. When measuring the current of each phase of high-voltage cables, the distance between cable heads should be at least 300mm, and the insulation should be good. The measurement can only be carried out when it is deemed convenient.
4. When using a high-voltage clamp meter, attention should be paid to the voltage level of the clamp ammeter. It is strictly prohibited to use a low-voltage clamp meter to measure the current of the high-voltage circuit for temperature recorders. When measuring with a high-voltage clamp meter, it should be operated by two people. Non duty personnel should also fill out a second type of work order for measurement. When measuring, they should wear insulated gloves, stand on an insulated pad, and not touch other equipment to prevent short circuits or grounding.
5. When observing the timing of the meter, special attention should be paid to maintaining a safe distance between the head and the charged part of the Shenzhen insulation resistance meter. The distance between any part of the human body and the charged body should not be less than the entire length of the clamp meter.
