Common faults of refractometer
1. The critical dividing line is unclear
Possible Causes:
① There are dust and oil stains on the eyepiece and related optical parts; ② The sample does not fill the prism surface; ③ The gap between the upper and lower prisms is too large; ④ The achromatic prism position is not at an angle; ⑤ The surface of the refractive prism is rough or severely corroded.
Method of exclusion:
① Wipe the relevant optical parts clean; ② Add some sample so that the sample fills the prism surface; ③ Adjust the four screws on the light-incoming prism and the eccentricity of the rotating shaft, and re-rotate the dispersion adjustment handwheel in Figure 7 to adjust the prism to the appropriate position; ④ Send the prism to a professional repairman or manufacturer to replace it.
2. The reading mark cannot be seen clearly
Possible reasons: There are dust and oil stains on the eyepiece and related optics.
Troubleshooting method: Wipe the shiny optical parts clean.
3. There is parallax between the dividing line and the cross line
Possible cause: The position of the telephoto objective lens moves.
Troubleshooting method: Recalibrate the telephoto objective lens.
4. There is parallax between the reading scale and the cross line.
Possible reasons: The position of the reading objective lens moves.
Troubleshooting method: Recalibrate the reading objective lens.
