How to test electronic components with a multimeter
1. Resistance test
SMD resistors are generally printed with identification characters of resistance value, such as 103 (resistance value 10K), 102 (resistance value 1K), test with a multimeter resistance file and then compare the marked value to know whether it is normal.
2. Capacitance test
Many digital multimeters have capacitance test gears. First short-circuit the capacitor to discharge, adjust it to the capacitance test gear, and then connect the capacitor to be measured to the two test ports dedicated to the capacitor, and then the capacity can be read out. If you only roughly determine the capacitance Whether it is good or bad, use the resistance gear or buzzer gear to test, the capacitor should not measure the resistance value (infinity) or the resistance changes from small to large and then to infinity, it is normal.
3. Diode test
According to the unidirectional conductivity of the diode, use the buzzer gear, and connect the red and black pens casually first. If it is turned on (with numerical value display), the red pen is connected to the positive pole of the diode, and the black pen is connected to the negative pole. The red and black ratios are reversed. There should be no value displayed (the same as the display content in the default untested state), so the test can be judged as normal after two tests, otherwise it is abnormal.
4. Inductance test
Some multimeters have an inductance test file, which can test the inductance. The method is similar to that of testing capacitors. If there is no inductance test function, you can only use the buzzer file or resistance file to test whether the inductance is open circuit (normal inductance, the buzzer file is used to test the multimeter, and the multimeter will make a sound. ), if the inductor is short-circuited, it cannot be determined. There is a special capacitance inductance meter to test, and the LCR bridge is the best.
5. Triode test
The internal structure of the triode is close to that of the diode, and the judgment method is similar to that of the diode.
