Common problems and solutions with microscopes

 

When you first start using a microscope, you will be plagued with some common problems. Here is a list of some common problems and solutions that can make you do not have to look up the instrument manual or contact the instrument maintenance engineer.


Microscope bulb does not light
1, check whether the power cord is loose, the socket is normal.


2, check whether the fuse is blown (fuse more in the body of the power connector), such as burned out then replace the fuse.


3, replace the spare bulb, pay attention to the replacement process, do not directly touch the fingers to the bulb.


Microscope can not focus imaging
1, check whether the focus limit mechanism is not adjusted to cause the working distance is not enough.


2, check whether the sample is put in reverse, if the coverslip down in the high power working distance is not enough.


The image is clear at low magnification, but blurred at high magnification.
1, Higher magnification of the sample thickness and flatness have higher requirements.


2, biological 100x lens should pay attention to whether there is no oil dripping, whether the objective lens is clean.


3, switch to high magnification when the aperture diaphragm on the condenser mirror to play big accordingly.


Uneven brightness of the field of view


Check whether the optical path is centred before using the microscope.


The light bulb has been lit, but the eyepiece field of view is completely black.
1, check whether the objective lens into the light path, field of view diaphragm and aperture diaphragm is adjusted too small, whether the light path is centred.


2, check whether the trinocular head eyepiece and video switching lever hit in the video position.


The brightness of the field of view is dark
1, the field of view diaphragm and aperture diaphragm is adjusted too small.


2, whether the optical path is adjusted in place (spotting scope, diaphragm, filament).


3, whether the use of polarisation, phase difference components.


Eyepiece field of view black edge
1, check whether the field of view diaphragm playing too small;


2, the optical path is not centred (spotting scope, diaphragm, filament);


3, the objective lens carousel whether to play in place;


4, the eyepiece barrel and the body of the card position is accurate.


Synchronisation problems, when using the camera to observe, the eyepiece observation is clear, but the computer displays a blurred image
1, adjust the interface or interface lens height to achieve synchronisation.


2, adjust the interface can not be fully synchronised, try to adjust the eyepiece diopter.
