Common Soldering Iron Soldering Methods

Selection
Commonly used soldering iron specifications are 25W, 50W, 75W, 100W and so on.

1, welding weak components to use 45W below the soldering iron, otherwise it may burn the components;

2, welding strong electric components to use more than 45W soldering iron, otherwise it will be due to the heat is not enough to affect the welding quality.

Welding materials
1, solder
Solder refers to the solder or pure tin, commonly used ingots and filaments of two kinds. Filament is usually in the centre of rosin, easy to use. A, E, B insulation level of motor wire welding with solder, F, H level with pure tin.

2, flux
Commonly used fluxes are rosin, solder paste and so on. Rosin is suitable for all electronic devices and small diameter wire welding; solder paste is suitable for large diameter wire and a large area of the conductor surface or connection of the reinforced tin.

Welding method
1, with an electrician's knife or gauze to remove the oxidised layer at the end of the connecting wire, and apply an appropriate amount of solder at the welding place.

2, will contain soldering iron tip, first dip some flux, and then aligned with the welding point under the weld, the welding head stay time should be based on the size of the weldment.

Soldering requirements
Welding point must be welded firmly, welded through. Welding liquid must be fully penetrated, the surface should be smooth and glossy, there can be no false soldering and interspersed soldering.

1, false, false welding means that the surface of the weldment is not fully plated with tin, between the weldment is not fixed by the tin, the reason is that the surface of the weldment oxidation layer is not removed cleanly or with less solder.

2, folder raw welding is that the tin is not fully melted, soldering surface of the tin crystal rough, the strength of the welded joint is greatly reduced, the reason is that the soldering iron temperature is not enough, or stay for too short a period of time.

Precautions
1, a variety of flux have different degrees of corrosion, after welding must remove the residual flux.

2, soldering iron metal shell must be grounded.

3, the use of the soldering iron can not rest on the board, to rest in the metal wire made of shelves.

4, can not be burned (soldering head oxidation does not eat tin) soldering iron welding, so as not to burn the weldments.

5, not allowed to fling up and down the use of the soldering iron, so as to avoid solder splash injury.
