Comparison Between AC Regulated Power Supplies and Conventional Regulated Power Supplies
(1) Fast response speed. Due to the use of high-speed linear electronic devices, instantaneous sampling and execution, the control response speed is extremely fast, and adjustments can be completed in milliseconds or less, allowing the output voltage to quickly return to near the rated voltage. Therefore, it has a suppressing effect on high-frequency interference and noise, and a purifying effect on millisecond level interference, which is not achievable by general regulated power supplies.
(2) The applicable range of input voltage is wide. The input voltage can vary by up to 30%~50% or even more, and can be symmetrically adjusted. The wider the range, the more repair energy needs to be provided. The value of the control voltage is mainly determined by demand, and from an economic and practical perspective, it is advisable to take (8-10)%.
(3) High voltage stabilization accuracy. Depending on the method of generating the reference voltage, the voltage stabilization effect can reach 1%, 0.1%, and 0.01%. Voltage stabilization with different accuracies is suitable for situations with different requirements. 1% is used for general voltage stabilization requirements; 0.1% is used for laboratories or important industrial equipment; 0.01% can be used for instrument calibration.
(4) It has the characteristics of green power supply. This method first corrects the waveform of the grid voltage to a good sine wave, and then supplies power to the load, with the amount of repair energy determined by the needs. As the essence of this method is to correct the waveform of the power grid, the distortion of the corrected waveform is generally less than 1%~0.5%. Therefore, this voltage stabilization method is green.
(5) Has certain environmental protection properties. If the input voltage remains unchanged, the output voltage will change due to the different nature of the load. Within a certain harmonic range, the corresponding changes in the control voltage will be used to keep the output voltage unchanged. Due to the isolation effect of the control voltage, it does not affect the input voltage, therefore, this voltage stabilization method has a certain degree of environmental friendliness.
(6) High work efficiency. The working principle of this power supply is to control high power with low power, and it has high efficiency. The capacity of the output voltage is mainly taken from the power grid, while the control voltage is generally the part of the grid voltage that deviates from the rated voltage, so only the power of the manufacturing control power supply needs to be consumed, resulting in extremely high efficiency.
