1. Moisture: refers to the moisture in the wood. The ratio of the weight of moisture in the wood to the weight of the absolutely dry wood is called the absolute moisture content, or simply the moisture content, denoted by W.
2. Electrical measurement: a method to directly determine moisture based on the relationship between the electrical properties of wood and moisture content, commonly used is a resistance-type wood moisture content tester.
3. The saturation point of wood fibers: In the presence of large capillaries, the free water of the wood will evaporate, while the water of the wood in the capillary system is still saturated. The saturation point of wood fiber is the turning point of the change of wood properties. The increase or decrease of absorbed moisture will cause the expansion and contraction of wood, which affects the dimensional stability of wood products and other physical properties of wood.
4. Equilibrium moisture content of wood: After the wood stays in the hot and humid air for a period of time, the moisture in the wood and the moisture in the air are no longer exchanged, and the moisture in the equilibrium state is called the equilibrium moisture content in the air.
