1. Free water exists in the wood capillary system. (This water is easily removed during wood drying and is at the highest levels, e.g. Paulownia has a free water content of up to 250%)
2. There is adsorbed water in the wood microcapillaries, and the wood moisture content of different tree species is 2333%, with an average of 30%. Only when a certain amount of energy is obtained and the binding capacity of the microcapillaries is overcome, water can be drained from the wood, which is difficult to remove.
3. Chemical water exists in the chemical composition of wood, and its content is about 1%. It cannot be removed by drying and is usually not considered.
