Criteria for Selecting Detectors for Toxic and Harmful Gases

Different types of places have different requirements for * * and hygiene. In some places, gas content is a very important indicator that can affect the lives of workers * *, as well as explosion-proof requirements. Therefore, various enterprises and government testing departments need to prepare toxic and harmful gas detectors to monitor the gas conditions in the place. The following is a brief introduction to the selection method of toxic and harmful gas detectors.

Firstly, it is necessary to determine the location where the gas detector will be used.

Different places require different types of gases to be detected. Some places are explosion-proof areas, so the detector also needs explosion-proof level instruments. In some places where it is inconvenient for personnel to enter and exit, it is recommended to use online gas detection instruments.

The second step is to confirm the types of gases to be detected and their respective concentration requirements

Different types of gases have different concentration requirements based on their impact. In some places, the low sensitivity requirement for the instrument is higher as long as there is no gas leakage.

There are two types of gas detectors that are most commonly used: portable gas detectors and fixed (online) gas detectors.

At present, most enterprises use portable gas detectors, which are small in size, easy to operate, and can be carried to different places for detection. Electrochemical principle detectors can be used continuously for over a thousand hours, and some batteries can be recharged. Widely used by large enterprises. However, it also has its drawbacks. Firstly, it does not measure continuously. For example, some companies only measure once, which cannot truly reflect the actual gas content throughout the day. Disadvantage 2: Mobile design can easily cause inherent errors in the electronic components of acceleration instruments, requiring more frequent calibration, otherwise the measurement accuracy is questionable. Disadvantage 3: The battery voltage and current may fluctuate or weaken, which may affect the measurement results. Disadvantage 3: In some production areas, portable detectors are not convenient for testing.
