Details to Note for the Initial Installation of the Microscope
After purchasing a microscope, if the manufacturer does not provide an engineer for installation, the initial installation and commissioning must be carried out by ourselves. First of all, the illumination optical path system must be properly aligned. This is one of the key measures for correct microscope operation and obtaining accurate, reliable results. This section mainly describes the installation and alignment procedures of the optical path during the initial setup of the microscope.
During microscope commissioning, proper adjustment of the illumination optical path system is a mandatory step after replacing the light source bulb in daily use, as well as an essential method for checking microscope performance. The adjustment of the microscope illumination optical path system mainly includes the following items:
First, open the bulb housing and install the halogen bulb into its socket. Do not touch the bulb directly with your fingers during installation, to avoid leaving fingerprints and contaminants that may shorten the service life of the bulb.
Place the microscope on the test bench, connect the power supply, and use a special screwdriver to adjust the focusing screw hole of the lamp until the filament image becomes sharp. Next, adjust the vertical adjustment screw hole of the lamp to set the filament at the proper height. Then adjust the horizontal adjustment screw hole of the lamp to get the filament in the correct left‑right position.
The inspection and calibration of the light emitter position inside the microscope aims to center the image of the light emitter squarely within the field of view of the objective lens. This ensures sufficient and even illumination of the microscope field of view from the light source, and serves as a prerequisite for adjusting the Köhler illumination system. Required basic tool: Centering telescope, supplied together with the microscope.
